April 19, 2020

I’m so excited for the message we have coming this weekend. Last week we experienced the message of Easter and heard the good news that Jesus has conquered death. So now the questions is, “What does that mean for me?” It’s a question of eternal importance and it’s what we’re wrestling with this weekend.

When you’re ready, start your morning of worship by watching the lesson video with your kids. It’s fun for the whole family and there is an opportunity to pause and discuss.  Afterwards, there are two great worship videos from Yancy to choose from: one is for older kids and one is for younger kids.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: The Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 7:7-11; Matthew 13:44)

Big Idea: God promises eternal life to those who seek and find Him.

Memory Verse: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7 (NIrV)

I’m praying this message stirs up great conversation among your family about what it means to take the great step of faith toward Jesus. If you or your family has questions or wants prayer, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

TODAY – This weeks gratitude journal ideas are going to be colours of Gods rainbow of hope.

Bonus!

How can do you remember the order of the colours in Gods rainbow?  Some people use the acronym Roy G Biv. Can you think of a better way?  Can you come up with a saying that has to do with God in some way and is meaningful to you?  Let us know by email!

Hi parents!

It’s hard to believe, but Easter is almost here. With that in mind, this Sunday we’re learning about the saddest day of the Holy Week—the day Jesus died on the cross. As sad as it is, though, it’s such an important part of the Gospel story. There is no, “He is risen,” without their first being “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”

When you’re ready, watch the lesson video with your kids. It’s fun for the whole family and there is an opportunity to pause and discuss.  Afterwards, there are two great worship videos from Yancy to choose from: one is for older kids and one is for younger kids.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Death on the Cross (Luke 23:32-46)

Big Idea: God’s grace is big enough, so we can go to Him no matter who we are or what we’ve done.

Memory Verse: “God’s grace has now appeared. By his grace, God offers to save all people.”  Titus 2:11 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

Lastly, I want to echo the words of Paul in Philippians 1:3, “Every time I think of you, I thank God for you.” I’m so proud to partner with you so the light of Jesus may shine in the lives of your children.

Good morning families! It’s time for kids’ church at home!

Sing Along! Time to get moving:

Watch this fun video lesson together as a family. Afterwards, there are two great worship videos for you to choose from.

Hey Kids!

We hear good things about your ‘Thankfulness Journals.’  Some people have used books they have, others have stapled pages together to make their book.  Your whole family can take part in adding in their ideas. It is a great way to keep us focused on all God’s blessings in our lives.  Under the ‘day’ buttons below, we’ve included an idea for each day of the week, to keep you going on it, or get you started.  It’s never too late!

Bring your journal in on the first Sunday we are all back together.  You will be given a ticket for each day of thankfulness in your journal and we’ll put them all in to have a draw for a super cool prize!

Keep writing:)

Can you believe it? Easter is coming soon! In preparation for the Holy Week, we’re learning about some of the events leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus. This week, we’ll be hearing about Jesus’ last supper with His disciples.

When you’re ready, watch the lesson video with your kids. It’s fun for the whole family and there is an opportunity to pause and discuss. Afterwards, there are two great worship videos for you to choose from: one is for older kids and one is for younger kids.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: The Last Supper (Matthew 26:17-30)

Big Idea: Jesus gave His body and blood for our sins, so we can remember Him through communion.

Memory Verse: “Everyone should take a careful look at themselves before they eat the bread and drink from the cup.”  1 Corinthians 11:28 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

Lastly, at times like this, it’s good to remember what Psalm 118 tells us: “Today is the day that the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Despite the circumstances, I pray that you are able to see God’s thumbprint on this day, and that when you do, it brings you overwhelming joy.

Services might be cancelled, but church is NOT! This is proof that the body of Christ cannot and should not be contained by 4 walls.

With that in mind, we’re so excited to share this video resource with you and your children. Watch it together as a family and answer the discussion questions when prompted. The video is in the style of a fun morning talk show for kids. Both you and your kids will LOVE it! And best of all, it’s designed to help your children learn and grow in their walk with Jesus.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet (John 13:1-17)

Big Idea: Jesus served others and wants us to do the same.

Memory Verse: “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last. They must be the servant of everyone.” Mark 9:35 (NIrV)

Finally, I want to leave you with a blessing based on Philippians 4:7. I think it’s fitting for these challenging times. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of you and your family in Christ Jesus. Amen. – Carol Patterson-Leclerc
