Hi parents!

Did you know one of the most frequent commands in the entire Bible is to remember what God has done? Remembering what God has done in the past helps us trust Him in the present. This weekend, we’re talking about when God commanded Israel to remember how He’d rescued them in a really tangible way – but setting up a pillar of rocks.

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family. And don’t forget to participate in the worship videos from Yancy afterwards—one song is for older kids and one is for younger kids.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Remembering God’s Goodness

Big Idea: God wants us to remember all of the great things He has done for us.

Memory Verse: “Remember the wonderful things he has done. Remember his miracles and how he judged our enemies.” Psalm 105:5 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

God still wants us to remember all the good He has done in our lives. Remembering still helps us trust Him – now and in the future. Take time this week to remember. Consider even finding a tangible way to remember – with rocks or sticky notes or just a simple journal. But don’t forget to remember.

Hi parents!

This weekend we’re going to hear how God healed His people of deadly snake venom by lifting up a bronze snake. It’s a bizarre story, right? But this bizarre story gives an incredible picture of how God healed us of sin by lifting up His Son. Your kids will learn to think about and understand the mercy of God in a whole new way!

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of family worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. (You can access the YouTube playlist here.) It’s a great way to engage spiritually with your family. And don’t forget to participate in the worship videos from Yancy afterwards—one song is for older kids and one is for younger kids.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: The Bronze Snake

Big Idea: God is merciful and has lifted His Son upon a cross so that we might be saved from death.

Memory Verse: “Moses lifted up the snake in the desert. In the same way, the Son of Man must also be lifted up. Then everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” John 3:14-15 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

We can forget sometimes just how simple the good news of Jesus is. The people of Israel had only to look at the bronze snake to find healing. We need only to look to the Savior who was lifted up on the cross for us. Look to Him this week.

Hi parents!

This weekend we’re going to be learning one of the most important lessons ever—it’s a lesson about the magnitude of God’s love and forgiveness. Which is greater, God’s love or our sin? You probably know the answer to that question, but after this weekend, your kids will too!

Bible Story: God’s love and forgiveness

Big Idea: God’s love and forgiveness is greater than our sin.

Memory Verse: “But here is how God has shown his love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

Sometimes it’s easy to know in your head that God’s love is greater than your sin, but I’m praying that this week you would know and believe that deep down in your soul.

Hi parents!

This weekend, we’re looking at the Book of Exodus. When we read the Book of Exodus, there’s one thing we see over and over—God’s power! That’s what we’ll be focusing on for this lesson.

Bible Story: The Book of Exodus

Big Idea: God is powerful.

Memory Verse: “Lord and King, you have reached out your great and powerful arm. You have made the heavens and the earth. Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

It’s true—nothing is too hard for God. I’m praying that you and your family see the power of God working in and around you throughout this coming week.

Hi parents!

I’m so excited about today’s lesson. For the next 5 weeks, we’ll be diving into the first 5 books of the Bible. And where better to start than in the beginning with the Book of Genesis. I love the Book of Genesis! It has some of the most incredible stories of God’s faithfulness. In fact, God’s faithfulness is what we’ll be focusing on today.

Bible Story: The Book of Genesis

Big Idea: God keeps His promises.

Memory Verse: “The Lord will keep all his promises. He is faithful in everything he does.” Psalm 145:13 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

Not only is God faithful in the Bible, He’s faithful to us right here and right now. I’m praying that you find rest and peace in the knowledge that God keeps His promises to you.

Hi parents!

It’s amazing how much practical wisdom the Book of James holds. If you haven’t read it before, or even if it’s been awhile, give it a read—it’s only 5 chapters. During this week’s family worship lesson, we’ll be looking at the last chapter of James and learning about the importance of praying for each other.

Bible Story: Pray for One Another (James 5:13-20)

Big Idea: God calls us to share our struggles with one another and to pray for each other.

Memory Verse: “So confess your sins to one another. Pray for one another so that you might be healed. The prayer of a godly person is powerful. Things happen because of it.” James 3:5 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

Speaking of praying for one another, if there’s any way I can be praying for you or your family this week, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Hi parents!

Question: what does a spark and your tongue have in common? Answer: they are both small, but they have the power to cause incredible damage. During this week’s family worship lesson, we’ll once again be gaining wisdom from the Book of James. Specifically, we’ll be talking about the importance of “taming the tongue.”

Bible Story: Taming the Tongue (James 3:1-11)

Big Idea: God calls us to be careful with our words.

Memory Verse: “The tongue is a small part of a person’s body. But it talks big. Think about how a small spark can set a big forest on fire.” James 3:5 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

Bible VerseTake Home SheetHIigh Voltage Take Away

As dangerous as words can be, they can also be the source of such incredible life. It’s my hope and prayer that you are able to speak life-giving words into your family and community this coming week.
