Did you know one of the most frequent commands in the entire Bible is to remember what God has done? Remembering what God has done in the past helps us trust Him in the present. This weekend, we’re talking about when God commanded Israel to remember how He’d rescued them in a really tangible way – but setting up a pillar of rocks.

Hi parents!

We’re all in need of good news right now! Fortunately, as followers of Jesus, we have the best news ever—the news of Christ’s power over sin and death. This is the news the world needs to hear and God has chosen us as the people to deliver it. But are you ready? That’s what we’re going to talk about in today’s family lesson.

 

When it’s time to begin, start your morning of worship by watching the short lesson video with your kids. It’s designed to be both fun and interactive. The video will prompt you to answer a question with your family. It’s a great way to engage spiritually with one another. Afterwards, there are two great worship videos from Yancy to choose from: one is for older kids and one is for younger kids.

Bible Story: Paul and Silas in Prison (Acts 16:16-40)

Big Idea: The good news of Jesus is for all people, so we should always be ready to share why we believe.

Memory Verse: “Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you about the hope you have.” 1 Peter 3:15 (NIrV)

And lastly, in this time of uncertainty, I want to leave you with this promise from God. It comes from Philippians 4:19-20. “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

We have a great message for your family this weekend. As followers of Jesus, we are recipients of the best news ever. We’re going to hear the story of Paul’s great escape and learn from his example how we can share the good news of Jesus with the world around us.
